2019 Cluster Carbonic Grenache
Angela Osborne x Folded Hills Library Wine

93 PTS - WINE ENTHUSIAST

This is our fourth vintage of Cluster, and we are blown away by her beauty! Ruben's careful farming of our estate-grown Grenache provided a harvest of healthy fruit perfectly set on their clusters.

Angela chose to respect his work by fermenting our Cluster Grenache using perfectly intact grape clusters. The approach is called whole cluster, or carbonic, fermentation, thus the name of the wine. The effect is a zesty freshness and a wonderfully energetic palate. A wine full of presence while remaining relatively light-bodied. This is a fun and festive wine; perfect for any occasion.

Exhibits vibrant notes of fresh cranberry and cherry, with a hint of white pepper. It has a bright mid-palate, leading to a long mineral finish, with balanced acidity and tannin.

Tasting Notes
"This whole-cluster, carbonic bottling manages to capture the fresh factor of such a regime while retaining plenty of unique savory and spice qualities. Transparent in the glass, this begins with aromas of pomegranate, Ruby Red grapefruit, green sage and eucalyptus. The palate is snappy and grippy with raspberry, tarragon and dewy thyme flavors." 93 PTS - WINE ENTHUSIAST, MATT KETTMANN

This an incredibly fun, fresh, and exciting red, and showcases the incredible fruity and juicy deliciousness that carbonic maceration can uniquely facilitate. Not the slightest bit weighty or extracted, rather it expresses terrific purity and ripeness while retaining incredible freshness and finesse. This is an unquestionably enjoyable and delicious creation from a wonderful Santa Barbara County producer.
