Made from 100% estate-grown grapes that were picked early in the morning from our hillside Nojoqui block. Two-thirds of this fruit cam from our 470 clone and one-third was sourced from our Estrella clone. EAch parcel was treated with the utmost care and was picked in separate lots but received the same treatment. After leaving 15% whole clusters and destemming 85% on top of the whole clusters, a 3-day cold soak was employed. Then, native fermentation commenced and the free run was separated from the pressed wine at the end of fermentation. This wine was crafted from the free-run portion of the Syrah fermentations and rested in 33% new French oak for 21 months prior to bottling.
This wine is framed by an incredible structure with firm acidity leading to a long-lasting finish with an astonishing integration of fruit and spice leaping across the palate from start to finish.
