2021 Sparkling Clairette Blanche
Once one of the Rhône Valley's most widely planted white grapes, today Clairette Blanche is a rare, vibrant, and exciting wine grape, especially when grown for sparkling wine in cooler vineyard locations. Only a few vineyards on California's Central Coast grow this grape, and we believe Folded Hills is the idyllic site for this unique variety.
Picked just-ripe and carefully fermented to retain its freshness, this Sparkling Clairette Blanche, produced in the Méthode Traditionnelle, expresses fresh, citrusy flavors, with a pleasant minerality resulting in a supremely elegant sparkling wine. The 2021 Sparkling Clairette was riddled, disgorged, and finished after aging for 24 months en tirage.
